Bain & Company is one of the Big Three management consultancies and one of the most admired companies in the world. It is many graduates and interns dream of getting into Bain.

Bain often recruits globally. You do not have to apply for their London office even if you graduated from a UK university. It also works the other way around. The Company hires approximately 30 graduates and interns in their London office.

Bain’s recruitment process

Step 1: Online Application

You will need to fill out your information on Bain’s official website and submit your application accordingly. Once you have submitted your application form, you will be invited to complete an online assessment. Please remember to prepare a CV before filling out their application form, as you will be required to submit a CV.

Step 2: Online Assessment

Despite being one of the toughest companies to get into, Bain uses a very standard online assessment to select students. Bain’s online assessment consists of a numerical reasoning test, a logical reasoning test and a verbal reasoning test. Once you have completed these tests, an assessor will assess your application along with other materials your provided and decide whether or not to invite you to an interview.

Step 3: First Round Interview

The first-round interview is divided into three smaller interviews: a market sizing interview, a behavioural interview, and a case study interview. These interviews are designed to assess your knowledge and skills from different angles. Step 4: Final Round Interview

The final round of interview is often conducted by a more senior member of the Company, and it mainly assesses whether your personality suits the company culture and team dynamics. This step can also involve a short case study. If you are successful at this stage, you will be offered a role at Bain.

How to Prepare for Bain’s Online Assessment

For numerical reasoning tests, it is important to practice our full set of questions both in the Learning Zone and the Challenge Zone. During the actual assessment, you should expect some charts and questions written based on those charts. It is essential to answer them quickly and accurately. Bain does not show you a timer during their assessments. However, their assessments are timed. Therefore, it is important to improve your speed in solving numerical reasoning questions.

The same rules apply to logical reasoning and verbal reasoning tests. During a logical reasoning test, you will see a set of diagrams and be asked to identify the next diagram in the series. If you have not seen this type of questions before or you are not really good at solving them, you should definitely practice our logical reasoning tests to improve your cognitive ability.

During the verbal reasoning tests, you will be presented with a paragraph and asked to draw conclusions. You will need to conclude whether the given statement is true, false or cannot be concluded based on the paragraph provided.
