The Verbal Reasoning Tests

Verbal reasoning tests are assessments aimed at evaluating a candidate's ability to understand, analyse, and apply verbal information. These tests are a common tool used by employers to assess candidates' suitability for roles requiring strong verbal communication skills and analytical thinking. In these assessments, candidates are presented with text passages and are required to draw conclusions, understand implications and evaluate arguments using skills such as comprehension, vocabulary and logical reasoning.

Our Approach

At Learn & Pass, we believe in learning to master the basics and then tackling complex questions. Our Verbal Reasoning Practice Tests are structured into two zones: the Learning Zone and the Challenge Zone.

In the Learning Zone, you'll begin with the fundamentals of verbal reasoning to build a solid foundation in comprehension and analysis skills.

In the Challenge Zone, you'll face real assessment-like questions that span a wide range of test types and complexities. If you're already confident with the basics, you can dive straight into the Challenge Zone to test and refine your skills.

It is important to remember that this type of question appears during many verbal reasoning assessments.

Learning Zone: Level 2

Level 2 is designed to test your verbal reasoning based on your understanding of vocabulary. In this test, you will you will be asked to identify words with similar or opposite meanings. The aim of this test is to help you develop more accurate interpretation skills.

Learning Zone: Level 3

Level 3 is designed to test your verbal reasoning based on your understanding of vocabulary and general knowledge. In this test, you will be asked to identify words that do not fit in together with other words. For example, you will see five different words, such as chicken, cow, cat, dog, and car. You will then need to choose the odd one, which is Car, because others are animals and the car is not.

Learning Zone: Level 4

Progressing on previous levels, level 4 is designed to put what you have learned into practice. In this test, you will see a short statement and a conclusion which was drawn on that statement. You need to choose an option to confirm whether the conclusion is "True, False or Cannot Say" solely based on the statement. These sorts of questions appear in real assessments very often.

Learning Zone: Level 5

This is the hardest test in the learning zone. Level 5 is designed to test your verbal reasoning based on the information provided. In this test, you will be provided two statements and asked to draw a conclusion based on the provided statements.

Challenge Zone: Real Assessment Practice

This is where you put everything you learned in the Learning Zone into practice and experience real verbal reasoning assessment-style questions. In this test, you will see a text and a conclusion which was drawn from the text. You need to choose an option to confirm whether the conclusion is "True, False or Cannot Say" solely based on your understanding of the text.
