Student & Graduate Recruitment Process
Stage 1: Online Application
The online application typically takes around 30 minutes. The application collects personal details, educational background, and work experience. Candidates are also required to provide detailed examples to some questions demonstrating key characteristics relevant to the role, such as leadership and alignment with Aldi’s core values. It’s essential to conduct thorough research into Aldi, including recent developments and corporate culture, to inform your responses effectively.
Stage 2: Online Assessment
Following the application, candidates may need to complete a situational judgment test, a numerical reasoning test, a verbal reasoning test and a logical reasoning test.
Which tests to complete will depend on the role you are applying for. In some cases, you may need to complete a situational judgement test only. It is important to carefully read the email from Aldi for further guidance.
Stage 3: Video Interview
If you are successful in previous steps, you will be invited to complete a video interview. The video interview consists of six questions. Each question allows 30 seconds for preparation and one minute for response, with topics ranging from personal character assessment to role-specific competencies.
Stage 4: Group Assessment
Successful candidates are invited to a group assessment, which consists of two activities: a presentation and a case study. During the presentation, candidates select a topic related to supermarket management and prepare a 10-minute presentation.
The case study involves working with other team members on a topic provided by the recruitment team.
Stage 5: Final Interview
In the final stage, candidates participate in a comprehensive interview focusing on their CV, experiences, and personal attributes relevant to the role. Questions explore problem-solving skills, resilience in adversity, and suitability for Aldi’s team environment. Drawing on past experiences with quantitative examples and demonstrating self-awareness regarding strengths and weaknesses are effective strategies for responding to interview questions.
Stage 6: Offer and Feedback
Candidates receive feedback following the final interview, providing an opportunity to seek clarification and evaluate their personal fit for the role. Aldi typically communicates decisions within two weeks after the final interview stage.
