Student & Graduate Recruitment Process

Stage 1: Online Application

Candidates apply through BlackRock's official careers portal, submitting their CV and completing application questions tailored to specific roles and departments.

Stage 2: Pre-Interview Assessment

After submitting your application, you’ll receive a link from HireVue to complete a short video recording (a pre-interview assessment). This must be completed within five calendar days; applications will not be considered if the pre-interview assessment is not completed within the deadline. There will be two questions. You can learn more about this assessment here.

If you are applying for software engineering roles, you will need to complete a coding challenge. This also must be completed within five calendar days; applications will not be considered if the coding challenge is not completed within the deadline.

Stage 3: First Round Interview

The First Round Interview will often be conducted with an associate or a manager online. The interview will focus on your understanding of the core values of Blackrock and your competencies. You can find out more about how to prepare for them here.

Stage 4: Final Round Interview

The final round interview will be with a more senior member of the team that you will be joining. You will be asked multiple technical/work related questions as well as competency questions. You can find out more about how to prepare for them here.

Stage 5: Offer and Feedback

Following the assessment centre, candidates receive feedback and are informed about the outcome of their application. You will receive a job offer if you are successful.

How to Prepare for the Online Assessment

Blackrock's recruitment process often does not involve an online assessment. If you are invited to complete a coding challenge, you can read more about how to prepare for them here.
