Student & Graduate Recruitment Process

Stage 1: Online Application

Applicants are required to apply through EY's official job application portal. The application asks a set of questions about who you are, your education and your experience. It normally takes around 30 mins.

Stage 2: Online Assessments

This stage will involve a selection of rank order, written and recorded video answers, and, where applicable to your programme, a time-recorded numerical reasoning test.

Stage 3: EY Experience Day

During the Experience Day, you'll take part in a number of activities and exercises, including a group case study and an individual task which involves numerical reasoning and situational judgement.

If you are applying for the Assurance Graduate Programme, you will attend in-person EY Experience days in one of their UK offices, which will also include a final interview.

Stage 4: Final Interview

This is your opportunity to share your strengths and motivations for the role you’ve applied for with a senior member of the team. It is also your chance to ask any questions you have about the programme and business area you've applied to.

If you applied for the Assurance Graduate Programme, your final interview will be held during the Experience Day.

Stage 5: Offer and Feedback

Following the final assessment, candidates receive feedback and are informed about the outcome of their application. You will receive a job offer if you are successful.

How to Prepare for the Online Assessment

EY UK's Immersive Online Assessment consists of two parts:

  1. Job Simulation Assessment
  2. A Numerical Reasoning Test (depending on the role)

and tests are provided by Cappfinity.

⌛️ Overall Time Needed to Practice: 4 days

⏰ Overall Time Needed to Complete the Assessment: 70 minutes

Job Simulation Assessment

The Job Simulation Assessment includes different styles of questions, including ranking orders, writing and video recording, and questions that focus on life at EY. Those questions are designed to assess the behaviours required to succeed in day-to-day work at EY. There's no time limit for completing this part of the assessment, which normally takes around 50 - 60  minutes.

In order to succeed in this part of the assessment, you can practice our Situational Judgement Tests, which include ranking-style questions that help you understand corporate culture and what employers might be looking for and our Mock Interviews, which help you be ready for video recording part of this assessment.

Numerical Reasoning Test

Being one of the leading accounting firms, numerical reasoning plays an important role at EY. This assessment is designed to assess your numerical skills and attention to detail. During this assessment, you will be asked to perform some calculations based on the information provided.

This part of the assessment has 12 questions. Although this assessment is not timed, it is time recorded. Ideally, you should not spend more than 12 minutes. The speed and accuracy of your calculation will be taken into consideration when calculating your final results. If you practice our set of Numerical Reasoning questions, with a focus on Challenge Zone: Assessment One and become comfortable with them, you can easily pass this part of the assessment.
