Student & Graduate Recruitment Process
Stage 1: Online Application
Candidates apply through Google's official careers portal, submitting their CV, transcripts and, in some cases, a cover letter and completing application questions tailored to specific roles and locations.
Stage 2: Online Assessment (not common)
For the majority of the roles at Google, you do not need to complete an online assessment. However, some roles require you to complete a coding assessment. The coding assessment may also be conducted as a part of your interview instead.
Stage 3: Interviews
Once you’ve submitted your application online, the recruitment team will review your resume, transcript, and any supplementary materials, and will invite you to several rounds of interviews if you meet the requirements for the role.
Interviews may be on the phone, via video conference, or in person. For technical interviews, practise coding on a whiteboard, in Google Docs, or over the phone. You can find more about how to prepare for the interview here.
Stage 5: Offer and Feedback
Following the assessment centre, candidates receive feedback and are informed about the outcome of their application. You will receive a job offer if you are successful.
How to Prepare for the Online Assessment
As, in most cases, Google's student and graduate recruitment process does not involve an online assessment, you do not need to practise a specific test. If you want to improve your general online assessment skills, you can practise one of our tests here.
