Stage 1: Online Application
Candidates apply through Lloyds Bank’s official careers portal, submitting their CVs and completing application questions tailored to the role and location.
Stage 2: Online Immersive Assessment
During this stage, you will be asked to look at possible work scenarios and answer how you’d respond, deciding on your most to least likely actions. There’ll also be questions about your preferred working style. Read more below on how to prepare for this assessment.
Stage 3: Job Simulation Assessment
In Job Simulation, you will answer questions across formats that include writing, video, multiple choice and ranking. Each question relates to the type of work you might do at HSBC. Questions vary depending on the role you are applying for.
Stage 4: Micro Exercise
If you are successful at Satge 3 and shortlisted for the Assessment Day, you will receive a link to complete four micro exercises. Those execises focus on your ability to deal with work related technical scenarios. You often need to complete this task before your Assessment Day.
Stage 5: Assessment Day
This stage includes individual and group activities, along with a 30-minute live interview with a member of the bank. The assessment centre integrates everything learned about HSBC so far, focusing on motivational and scenario-based questions during the interview.
Stage 6: Offer and Feedback
Following the assessment centre, candidates receive feedback and are informed about the outcome of their application. You will receive a job offer if you are successful.

Immersive Online Assessment
The Immersive Assessment includes multiple ranking and rating-style questions that focus on life at HSBC. Those questions are designed to assess the behaviours required to succeed in day-to-day work at HSBC. There's no time limit for completing this part of the assessment, which normally takes around 50 minutes.
