Student & Graduate Recruitment Process

Stage 1: Online Application

For summer internships, off-cycle internships, and analyst and associate programmes, candidates apply through JP Morgan’s official career portal, submitting their CVs and cover letters and completing application questions.

Stage 2: Online Assessments (where applicable)

While the majority of the internship and analyst programmes do not require candidates to complete an online assessment, a small number of programmes, such as engineering and data, may require you to complete numerical reasoning and coding assessments. You can read more about how to prepare for those assessments below.

Stage 3: HireVue Interview

If you are not required to complete an online assessment, within 24 hours of submitting your application, you will be invited to participate in a HireVue interview, where you will need to answer three pre-recorded questions. Those questions may include competency-based questions and some technical questions, depending on the role.

Stage 4: Hiring Manager Interview

Depending on the role, there will be one to two rounds of hiring manager interviews. Each interview may last between 30 minutes to 60 minutes.

During those interviews, you will be asked multiple motivational, technical knowledge, competency-based and scenario-based questions. Some roles may also ask you to do a stock pitch exercise and complete a work-related case study.

Stage 5: Offer and Feedback

Following the final interview, candidates receive feedback and are informed about the outcome of their application. You will receive a job offer if you are successful.

How to Prepare for the Online Assessment

JP Morgan's Online Assessment may consist of the following:

1. Numerical Reasoning Assessment:

You can start by using Learn and Pass's Numerical Reasoning Practice Tests. Focus on mastering fundamental numerical skills such as calculations, interpreting data from charts and graphs, and solving problems efficiently.

You should practice in both the Learning Zone to build foundational knowledge and the Challenge Zone to simulate real assessment-like questions from various providers.

2.  Coding Assessment:

Learn and Pass may not explicitly cover coding assessments, but candidates can prepare by studying programming languages and algorithms relevant to the role they are applying for. You can use the resources outlined here to prepare for the coding assessment.

Practice consistently using Learn and Pass's resources to build confidence and familiarity with the types of questions and assessments you may encounter.

You can read how to prepare for JP Morgan's digital interview here.
