Stage 1: Online Application

Candidates apply through Linklaters' official careers portal, submitting their CV and cover letter outlining their qualifications, experience, and interest in the firm.

On the application form, there are some motivation and skills-related questions where you need to write long answers. You also need to complete a CAPP assessment as a part of the application form.

The overall application form may take around 100 - 120 minutes.

Stage 2: Online Assessment

If your application is selected to progress to the next stage, you will be invited to complete an online assessment. During the online assessment stage, you will complete the Watson Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal. The test lasts 30 minutes and involves 40 questions that assess your critical thinking.

You will have 5 days to complete this assessment once your application is submitted. To learn about how to prepare for this test, please read our guidance below.

Stage 3: Interview Day

If you are successful in your online assessment, your application will be closely reviewed by the recruitment team. If you meet the requirements for the role, you will be invited to the interview day.

Linklaters' interview day will take place in person, with an option to interview virtually.

The interview day (assessment day) will consist of a work simulation assessment, an HR interview and a partner interview, which will include discussions around the case study, commercial questions, and competency-based questions.

Stage 4: Offer and Feedback

Following the interview day, candidates receive feedback and are informed about the outcome of their application. You will receive a job offer if you are successful.
