Student & Graduate Recruitment Process

Stage 1: Online Application

Candidates apply through HSBC’s official careers portal, submitting their CV and completing application questions tailored to the role and location.

Stage 2: Online Immersive Assessment

During this stage, you will be asked to look at possible work scenarios and answer how you’d respond, deciding on your most to least likely actions. There’ll also be questions about your preferred working style. Read more below on how to prepare for this assessment.

Stage 3: Job Simulation Assessment

In Job Simulation, you will answer questions across formats, including writing, video, multiple choice, and ranking. Each question relates to the type of work you might do at Lloyds Bank. Questions vary depending on the role you are applying for.

Please note: Based on the role your applying for, you may need to complete some video recording questions either at Stage 2 or at Stage 3. Please check the guidance email you will receive from Lloyds Banking Group.

If you are required to complete some video recording questions as part of stage 2, you will be invited to stage 4 after stage 2, if you are successful.

 

Stage 4: Assessment Centre

The Assessment Centre consists of an individual case study exercise, a group case study, an interview, and a coding test (only for data, technology and engineering roles). The assessment centre integrates everything learned about Lloyds Banking Group so far, focusing on motivational and scenario-based questions during the interview.

Stage 5: Offer and Feedback

Following the assessment centre, candidates receive feedback and are informed about the outcome of their application. You will receive a job offer if you are successful.

How to Prepare for the Online Assessment

Lloyds Banking Group's (LBG) Immersive Online Assessment includes ranking style situational judgement, rating and numerical analysis questions, and tests provided by Cappfinity.

Immersive Online Assessment

The Immersive Assessment includes multiple ranking and rating-style questions that focus on life at LBG. Those questions are designed to assess the behaviours required to succeed in day-to-day work at LBG. There's no time limit for completing this part of the assessment, which normally takes around 50 minutes.
