Student & Graduate Recruitment Process
Stage 1: Online Application (CV and Cover Letter Screening)
Candidates apply via McKinsey’s official careers portal, submitting their CV, cover letter, and academic transcripts.
Stage 2: Problem-Solving Test
Shortlisted candidates may undertake a problem-solving test called Solve to assess analytical skills and logical reasoning. This gamified assessment takes around 60 minutes and helps McKinsey understand how you approach problem-solving and how well you can size up a situation.
Stage 3: First Round Interview
If you successfully pass the gamified assessment, you will be invited to an interview. Though there are some differences between first and second-round interviews, they are also largely similar. Each interview usually takes 45 to 60 minutes and can be broken down into three parts: the standard fit interview, the Personal Experience Interview (PEI), and case questions.
Stage 4: Second/Final Round Interview
If you are successful in your first-round interview, you will be invited to a second-round interview. It is similar to the first round interview and you can expect a similar structure.
Stage 5: Offer and Feedback
Following the final interview, candidates receive feedback and are informed about the outcome of their application. You will receive a job offer if you are successful.
