Student & Graduate Recruitment Process
Stage 1: Online Application & Assessment
Candidates apply through White & Case's official careers portal and submit their CV, cover letter, and academic transcripts. The application should highlight relevant experience, skills, and motivation for joining the firm.
Stage 2: Video Interview
During the video interview, you’ll answer three questions. You’ll have 15 seconds to prepare for each question and 90 seconds to answer. Before you answer the questions, you’ll have the opportunity to complete a practice question to help you feel more at ease. You can learn more about how to prepare for White & Case's interview here.
Stage 3: Telephone Interview
If you are successful in stage 2, you will be invited to a telephone interview. The telephone interview (for applicants applying directly for a training contract only) is 30 minutes in length. It’ll be with a member of our Early Careers Legal Recruitment and Development Team, and the questions will focus on the competencies we look for in our trainee solicitors.

Stage 4: Assessment Centre
The assessment centre includes a written assessment, group business simulation and interview with one member of the Early Careers Legal Recruitment and Development Team and one associate.
Stage 5: Final Interview
If you are successful in the Assessment Centre, the final stage will be an interview. The interview will have a pre-prepared commercial presentation with two partners and some behavioural questions.
Stage 6: Offer and Feedback
Following the final interview, you will receive feedback and be informed about the outcome of your application. You will receive a job offer if you are successful.
